Buzzient in Action : Like everyone, I was horrified by the recent events at the Boston Marathon. As someone who grew up in a country split apart by terrorism on all sides of the community, I am well aware of the long-term damage and suffering such a horrible thing can cause, far beyond the material destruction.
Whilst I was sifting through the news reports and general coverage of this outrage, I came across something chimed in with something I have been thinking about recently – the role of textual analysis and sentiment detection in both the private sector for the purposes of marketing, lead assertion and so on, and also the public sector, for pattern and content detection.
So I was heartened when I read this article. Having the privilege to know the gentleman in question, it does not surprise me that he stepped up to the plate. If only we had had the tools and technologies that he speaks about when I was growing up.
